Looking for the BEST coastal gravel ride in Oregon
Every Summer I pack up my gravel bike and hop on a plane to Portland, Oregon to spend one or two weeks with friends, riding and exploring by bike. Oregon offers some of the most diverse, lush and beautiful bike riding in the country. I could spend weeks there just riding every day.
I was able to line up my trip with some friends who were tasked with producing a video for Visit McMinnville in which we were to tackle what could be the best gravel ride in Oregon’s coastal mountain range. McMinnville is a small town in Oregon’s coastal mountain region, for those who aren’t familiar. My friends Dustin and Ron are two of Portland’s best route-masters who spend their weekends in search of the best bike riding around the Pacific Northwest. I was lucky enough to be in town for this little excursion.
This route covered over 70 miles and 7,000ft of elevation in some of the area’s best roads, paved and unpaved. It’s got wide open descents, scenic climbs and even a pretty wonderful little swimming hole.
Check out the video from the trip! Dustin did a great job with it and Ron provides some of the best comedic ramblings along the way.
