“This year, like last year, we had significant ratings success with our top programming: Major League Fishing,” said Major League Fishing general manager, Jim Wilburn. “We couldn’t be happier and more privileged to be able to bring viewers the great sport of fishing week-in and week-out by partnering with great brands like frogg toggs® on our Outdoor Sportsman Group Networks.”
Developed through a joint effort between Outdoor Channel and two-dozen premier bass fishing anglers in 2011, Major League Fishing (MLF) brings the high-intensity sport of competitive bass fishing into America’s living rooms in the form of riveting two-hour TV episodes. Twenty-four world-class anglers are filmed over the course of a six-day event. The show captures the anglers’ efforts and utilizes a demanding format that allows them to weigh all the “scorable bass” participants catch. Unlike other competitive fishing events, live leaderboards in the boats allow anglers to know their standings at all times.
According to the most recent Nielsen ratings, Major League Fishing has been the #1 series on the Outdoor Channel network for 3 years in a row. Along with the team from Outdoor Sportsman Group, this success can also be accredited to Major League Fishing’s numerous partners.
